The Institute Of Chartered Accountants Of Pakistan regulates the accounting profession. Only chartered accountants with valid practice certificates and Audit Oversight Board registration can audit public or large private companies as per the Companies Act, 2017.
The Audit Oversight Board ensures quality in audits of public interest entities. It reviews the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan’s Quality Assurance Board, assesses quality control frameworks, and oversees policies for public interest company audits. Abbas & Co. is registered with the Board for auditing such entities.
